The FAQ
How long have you been a photographer?
Kaylee Brooke Photography was established in 2015! I've had a camera in my hand since 12 y/o, so almost 20 years (yes, I'm old and my stylist does great covering gray hair lol).
Do you Travel?
Yes! Your girl loves to travel! All sessions include travel from my home up to 50 miles roundtrip. Additional miles can be added to your package as follows (roundtrip): Up to 100 miles $50 | Up to 150 miles $100 | 150+ miles, let's chat!
Do you require a booking deposit?
A non-refundable $50 deposit is due at booking to reserve your date and time. The remaining balance (your session amount minus $50) is due the day of your session.
Note: Discounted sessions/mini session deals require full payment to book.
How many photos do we get?
Each session offers a specific, guaranteed number of photos (see investment page), but you may receive a few more than the minimum at no charge. Each image is carefully selected to offer you the highest quality gallery that aligns with my brand and tells your authentic story.
How do we get our photos?
All session includes a digital gallery that is delivered to your email with instructions for proper digital download. Please do not screenshot from the gallery as it will not give you the high quality image as provided through proper downloading. Flash drives are available to be added to your package for $25.
Do you retouch photos?
I offer moderate skin smoothing and blemish removal that looks natural. It is not required if you prefer to opt-out of any retouch. I do not regularly offer much retouch on babies/children (unless requested for special circumstances) - they're perfect just the way they are!
What's your turn around time?
For most sessions, you will receive your full gallery within three weeks. I often deliver galleries sooner, but it varies based on my workload and if your session is in a busy season.
How do we book with you?
Send me a message through the "contact" tab on this website and we'll get the party started! Also, see "The Experience" tab for more information about the process for clients.
How far out do you book?
If I have the spot open, it's yours! I’ve had bookings as far out as a year and as close as a few days. My calendar does fill-up pretty quickly, so I do not recommend delaying getting your session scheduled.
What should we wear?
For families and couples, I recommend that everyone's clothing coordinate, but I do not recommend 100% matching. Wear what you feel the most yourself in! Typically, I lean more to suggesting neutral, soft colors than very bright or loud patterns, but all clothing vibes are welcome! For more help, see "The Experience" page.
we are awkward - how do you deal with that?
It's totally normal to feel this way! Most of us weren’t taught how to be authentic in front of a camera, but to “smile right”, “stand still”, and “look happy". My approach to photography doesn't require you to change anything about who you are - we embrace any awkward feelings and find balance to just be ourselves. It’s my job to help you feel safe enough to let your guard down and to guide you when needed, but leave plenty of room for you to be genuinely you.
What if the weather is bad on the day of my outdoor session?
We'll keep an eye on the weather and make a decision the day-of your session since bama weather is so unpredictable. If it looks like it will be raining during the time of the session, we can reschedule for another day. My goal is to give you the best photos possible and sometimes that means working around the weather. Doing a fun or romantic in-the-rain session could also be an option!
Where should we print our pictures?
Mpix is a great professional printing website that offers high quality and accurate color prints. Please note that stores like Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, etc. do not have color-accurate, high-quality images.
Can you give us the unedited images?
Each image is meticulously edited to provide my clients with the highest quality photos that align with my brand. Only edited images are available to my clients.
can I post the photos to social media?
Yes, absolutely! I love when people share their images online with friends and family! I kindly ask anyone posting the photos to give me photo credit/tag my photography page on whichever platform you are using. Please do not apply any filters or crops to alter the images in any way.
