HEY THERE, I'M KAYLEE BROOKE CLAYTON
OR "KB" FOR SHORT. I'm honored that you're here!
I have been so happily married to my Georgia boy and best friend, Kody, since April 2024. We live in Cullman AL, but I was raised by my Jesus-loving parents in good ole' Speake AL. My little sister is my bestie for life - she and my BIL have two girls who are the center of our world! Paul Blart "fun fact for ya": my sister, our husbands and I all have K-names. Cute, right?
I'm a big fan of my hubs, the beach, hand embroidery, couponing, roller coasters, Bama athletics + Cullman 31's piña colada tea.
photogrAPHY TESTIMONY
My parents gifted me my first camera when I was 12 years old - something I wanted so badly after watching my mama and grandmothers capture the most precious memories of my childhood (ah, the sweet '90s before smartphones). I worked hard to grow my skills, and it became so much more than just "taking pictures"; it became a way to truly express my love for God and people through the art of photography. I had the opportunity to be the yearbook editor in high school and quickly became known as the girl who always had a camera in her hands.
I began my professional photography career in college with my first DSLR - another generous gift from my parents. I had the BEST clients and stayed busy for six years! In 2021, I unknowingly inserted a faulty SD card that caused irreparable damage to my camera. As a result, I shifted all my focus toward growing as a child trauma therapist (I have a Bachelor's and Master's in Social Work) and only did photography for immediate family using my sister's camera.
Fast forward to 2024: my handsome husband and I said, "I do," on the beach with the people we love most. Our photographer was wonderful, and seeing her so passionate about her art reminded me of how much I missed being behind the camera. Immediately, the Lord began reminding me of the passion He gave me for photography. Throughout 2024 to now, Kody and my sister wouldn't let me quit dreaming of all God could have in store for me. I'm really glad God's plans are better than our own—amen?!
In June 2026, Kody surprised me with my dream mirrorless camera (someone get this man the husband of the year award lol), and we began the process of restarting my business. I've dreamed of the day I would be able to type that.
So here I am now—ready to testify to the goodness of the one true living God, prayerfully believing He will strengthen me to steward His call, and feeling so grateful to be capturing photos of His creation again (that's you—wink wink).
Psalm 27:1 NKJV
gratitude
I couldn't imagine concluding this testimony without offering a heartfelt thank-you to all the people who have supported this dream since I was a child and throughout my professional career over the past eleven years. Your trust in me to capture memories that are so dear to your hearts is an honor that I do not take for granted. I pray blessings over you and your family, believing that your eyes will see the goodness of God in every area of your life. You're not on earth by mistake, and He has divine purpose for your existence.
